How do I get started?
There is a nonrefundable application fee of $20 to volunteer - this fee is not refundable for any reason, and is paid prior to accessing your application. Next, you will be asked to pay a $285 deposit, which is equivalent to a ticket plus a cancellation fee. This deposit is insurance that you will show up to your shifts. If you complete all of your work up to par, you will receive your deposit back within 3 weeks following Electric Forest 2013. Deposits are only processed via credit card, and tickets already purchased may not be exchanged for a deposit. All volunteers must be 18 or over at the time of signing the wavier (the wavier is signed after you have been accepted to volunteer and put down your deposit).
What is the time commitment?
Electric Forest volunteers working during the festival will be required to work 18 hours throughout the weekend. For volunteers working Pre-Festival or Post-Festival, an average of 30 hours is required (but you don't miss any of the festival)!!
When do I need to be on-site?
Volunteers working during the festival must be available to sign in by 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 26th. Pre-Festival volunteers are required to sign in on Sunday June 23rd by 8:00PM and Post-Festival will be required to sign in at the Post-Festival volunteer meeting on Sunday June 30th – time is TBD. No shows to this meeting will forfeit their deposit.
What kinds of duties do volunteers perform?
Volunteers perform a variety of tasks to assist in the festival’s success. Departments include: Parking, VIP, Merchandise Sales, Ice and Water, Trash and Recycling/Greening, Sherwood Forest, Lost and Found and much more.
